O2B Kids

Our COVID-19 Safety Procedures

O2B Kids has remained open throughout the COVID-19 crisis which means we’ve gained invaluable experience in how to successfully manage schools AND keep kids safe during this unprecedented time.

While we absolutely love laughing, playing and teaching your kids, we know that our primary responsibility is to keep your kids SAFE! To do so, we monitor the daily guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), our local Health Departments, and our Licensing Agencies. Additionally, we’ve been actively engaged with a national child care think tank to share best practices across the country. Now more than ever, we remain committed to our mission to give your family a SAFE place for your child to laugh, learn and grow!

Our Response to COVID-19

While we continue to improve our systems as new information is provided, the information below demonstrates the current steps we are taking to keep our facilities as safe as they can be.

O2B Kids

Health Screening

Every child and staff member is asked to only attend if they can pass a Daily Health Screening and Attendance Policy. Our screening policies are updated frequently based on recommendations from the Health Department and the CDC. Please review the Daily Health Screening & Attendance Policy at the front desk.

O2B Kids

Prevention Policies

Children are observed throughout the day for signs of illness. We educate our staff on health and safety steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are following a strict COVID-19 attendance policy. Anyone with symptoms is unable to attend and can return only after meeting the requirements outlined in the policy.

O2B Kids

Cleaning & Sanitizing

We clean & disinfect the building throughout the day with a focus on commonly touched surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, faucets, bathrooms, tables & chairs. We do not share toys between groups and we disinfect any toy that comes in contact with body fluid. We use spray disinfectant for our playgrounds, play areas and buses after every play session. We use sanitation foggers to disinfect classrooms and play areas and deep clean nightly.

O2B Kids

Healthy Habits

We educate our kids about how germs spread and teach healthy habits such as sneezing or coughing into a tissue or your elbow if no tissues are available. We wash our hands for 20 seconds MANY times during the day including upon arrival, at meal times, before/after going outside, before/after naps and after every classroom transition. Our Health Screening & Escort team wear masks.

Daily Health Screening

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, every CHILD and ADULT regardless of vaccination status must pass a Daily Health Screening before entering an O2B Kids facility.

Daily Health Screening

  • Temperature – The child’s temperature must be below 100.4 degrees.
  • Symptoms – Does the child you’re dropping off have symptoms of COVID-19? Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • In Contact Or Positive – Has the child you’re dropping off been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19?

COVID-19 Attendance Policy

We are following a strict Daily Health Screening & Attendance Policy which is updated regularly based on current CDC and Health Department guidelines. In order to attend, each child and staff member needs to meet these screening and attendance requirements. If your child has symptoms of COVID-19, has been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, is waiting for a COVID-19 test result, or has tested positive, please review our current Attendance Policy to determine whether or not they can attend. The policy can be found at the front desk, or give us a call and we can send you the current forms.

This COVID-19 Attendance Policy may be adjusted by the local health department on a case by case basis.

The guidelines are for illnesses related to COVID-19. All other illnesses and symptoms will follow our regular Sick Policy found in our Parent Handbook (for children) or Fun Crew Storybook (for employees). Thank you for helping us stay safe and healthy!

Our Response to a Positive Test Result

While we will do everything possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this virus has jumped oceans and crossed continents and is very difficult to contain. Part of a solid Safety Plan is acknowledging that we cannot 100% prevent the spread of this virus. Responding aggressively if a member of our school community tests positive for COVID-19 is an essential part of our Safety Plan. In the event of a positive test, we will follow these steps:

Identify

We will identify the children, staff or parents who may have been in contact with the diagnosed person. "In contact" is defined as being within 6 feet of the person for 15 minutes or more.

Notify

We will notify all families of children who may have been in contact with the diagnosed person and communicate if a quarantine period is required prior to returning to school.

Report

We will report the positive test result to the Health Department, our Licensing Agency, and our School Readiness provider.

Clean

We will complete a deep clean of the building including the use of a sanitation fogger.

Protect

In order to protect others from potential virus exposure, we will use CDC guidelines to determine if the school or a classroom needs to close and for how long.

Breathe!

Take a deep breath! This is a stressful time but we'll all get through it together!

These action steps are based on guidance from the CDC and our local Health Departments and may evolve as new information is made available.

FAQ

Are parents allowed to take their children inside of the building?

Parents are welcome to escort their child to their classroom when dropping off and are asked to wear a mask when doing so.

What is your policy on kid masks?

The CDC recommends that school-age children wear a mask. This is particularly important when in public settings or common areas where it is difficult to practice social distancing. Please have your child bring a mask with them, and wear it when they arrive. Once they are in their classroom with their group or while on the playground, they may be able to take it off. Children in our Afterschool program are required to wear a mask while on the bus or van. Our mask policy may vary by location depending on state and local regulations.

Does your staff wear masks?

We encourage all staff members to wear a mask in common areas of the building - any time they enter, exit, use shared spaces, the transition between rooms, go to the bathroom, walk in the halls, etc. If they choose, they can take the mask off when they are on the playground in the fresh air. When our teachers are in their assigned classroom with their assigned group of children, vaccinated teachers can take the mask off. Our mask policy may vary by location depending on state and local regulations.

What will drop-off and pick-up look like?

In order to attend, we ask all families to ensure that their child can pass the Daily Health Screening & Attendance Policy. We ask parents to wear masks at drop-off and pick-up.

How are you disinfecting/sanitizing classrooms and play areas?

We are cleaning and disinfecting the building throughout the day with a focus on commonly touched surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, faucets, bathrooms, tables and chairs. We use a spray disinfectant to clean the playground equipment after every group. We do not share toys between groups of children and we sanitize all toys that come into contact with a child’s bodily fluid. We use sanitation foggers to disinfect our classrooms. We also do a nightly deep cleaning at the end of every day.
